the pool

we left the house and went swimming today (i feel so brave)... aislyn had a blast with her new friend emma. aislyn is fearless and will jump off of any edge of any pool. gotta watch that girl...

grayson's first bath

his cord fell off, YEA, so we got to give him a much needed bath today. not sure how he felt about it... but he sure smells better.

my little bro

aislyn still can't keep her hands or lips off this little guy. she likes to help whenever she can. WHENEVER she can...

big sister woes

any of you who know me, know that i am careful with how i dress my child. generally, she always matches, always looks cute, i try to do her hair most of the time, etc. however, kenny and i looked at her the other day, when he was on his way out the door to run an errand with her, and we started laughing so hard because she looked like a little homeless urchin, and we still let her go out in public. i mean, WHAT is she wearing. i don't even know where half of those clothes came from. i guess that's what happens when you have two.

grayson klein

introducing grayson klein.... after 28.5 hours of super fun labor, grayson entered the world on saturday morning, june 2nd at 12:30 a.m., weighing in at 7 lbs 14 oz. and 20 inches long. aislyn loves her little brother, a little too much, constantly smothering him with kisses galore. i thought i'd post a couple pics to introduce him. oh, side note, my amazing friend elaine took the top two shots the morning he was born, the others are mine. (gotta give credit where its due, she's fabulous).

the rose...

this is just a shot of my baby girl sniffing a rose for the first time. she shoved it in my face for me to smell a couple times too. i love their curiosity and wonder when they discover new things like flowers that smell good. :)

This first shot is how we found baby girl in the backyard, just covered in dirt. I was horrified, until I remembered that i liked dirt better than dolls too. The second was taken when a friend of mine came over to do maternity shots of me, and Aislyn looked so cute I had to grab my camera and shoot a couple for myself :).

helpin' my daddy

As Daddy has been faithfully putting together the baby's room, Aislyn has decided that she wants to help every chance she gets. She stands there and holds the chair rail so daddy can nail it in the wall. Its quite precious.

pre easter

lyss and i tried desperately to take pics of the kiddos in easterish outfits. mostly it was baby girl looking down and baby boy running away... oh well, in the spirit of hopping bunnies... oh, and i still can't figure out how to turn a picture from landscape to portrait within the blog site. so, turn your head instead.

big eyes

even though her hair is messy and dirty and there is snot on her face, i couldn't help but love this shot. it happens only once every few months that she actually looks right into the camera when i'm ready for it. :)

hearts and smiles

I took a few pics of Aislyn while she was running away from me this week. I love the third one, where she's thinking, "really mom, again with the camera?" 16 months is a really hard age for me to capture on film. But its SO fun. She has mastered getting her sunglasses on as well as mommy and daddy's. Yesterday she put sunglasses on, grabbed her daddy's keys and headed for the front door trying to open it with the key, it was great. She's also mastered the word no. And says it as frequently as she can. Tonight she actually SANG what I call the no song when I asked her to bring me her pajamas. Its so hard not to laugh, but I'm sure I will tire of it soon!

it's about time...

i was talking to an old friend today and telling her i had this site, but that it hadn't been updated in a LONG time. so.. i decided it was time to make a couple quick posts. this is my sweet christmas baby, and then a pic of braidyn and aislyn back in texas when we were home in october. they LOVE each other, its too cute. except when they want the same toy.

aisley has a new friend, who oddly enough looks just like her. she played with this mirror forever, just picking it up and laughing at who she saw (you can see her smile if you look closely). if she dropped the mirror, she would pick it up again and if it was on the magnifying side, she'd very carefully turn it to the other side, so she could find her sweet friend again to give her more kisses.

m'lady

aislyn decided to play with mommy's hats and scarves. she would put the scarf on, and leave it there for a minute and then real quickly, pull it off. then i would put the hat on her and that was just funny. she kinda freaked when she couldn't get it off of her head though...

just a sittin'

we have now accomplished the art of sitting up! sweet girl still will not roll over, and she doesn't care. its just really not something she's interested in. but she sits up, and when she's on her tummy, she scoots backwards, which is great fun unless she's on a bed. thankfully she hasn't scooted off yet.
