licky licky

as of late, aislyn has been very concerned that something might be in the room that she hasn't yet licked. so to prevent this from happening, she keeps that tongue out at all times. i think there's a medical disorder with these same symptoms!

braidyn loves her baby cousin, and aislyn ADORES her big cousin. she generally just watches her and cackles. she's always a little concerned though when braidyn wants to hold her for pictures. but it definitely makes for some cute ones.

you're supposed to start websites like this on your babies when they're born. but since we missed the first 6 months, i thought i'd throw these in for old times sake. these are all from september 29th, 2005, or a couple days thereafter when our 7lb. 7oz. baby girl was born. and i don't care what anyone says, she's a mini kenny. but in a girl kind of way.

byrds everywhere...

apparently only five pics are allowed to post at a time, and clearly that is not enough for me and my obsession. oh, and i don't know how to rotate pictures on this site, so just turn your head. on easter sunday, we had a byrd family picnic. our dear friends, the other byrds, ian, lyss & liam came along and joined our family at the zoo for a picnic. braidyn and liam had the time of their lives, and flirted like crazy.... well, as much as 1 and 2 year olds can flirt. i think SHE was coming on to HIM! how could she help herself, he's adorable. so great to have friends with the same last name. it's fun to pretend we're related. hoobler....

celebrate

aislyn's first easter. unfortunately, she doesn't yet understand the real reason we celebrate. her cause for celebration is mommy, daddy, bottles and blankies. but i have no hesitation that she will understand one day, listening to the beautiful prayers her daddy prays, thanking the Lord for His sacrifice and for our salvation. it's so wonderful to be married to a man who wants nothing more than for our kids to know the grace of God, as we strive to know it every day.

let's try this again

this is our joy. our aislyn joy. she is 6 months old already, unbelievable. it seems like just yesterday that the lightning scared her out of me. i love this photo because it captures her calm curiousity. she is so contemplative and has such a sweet, gentle manner about her. her personality is already being shaped, and its so amazing to watch and to think that we have a part in it. how can people who have had kids say that there isn't a God!

finally....

this is all new. our first blogspot. it's about time. and it will be, like everything else in our life, all about our little girl. and clearly, i don't know what i'm doing, because i can't make the duplicate picture go away.
